Publisher: A Mame et Fils, Tours (noted for luxury devotional and commemorative editions - a highly respected Catholic publisher active from early 19th c to early 20th c)

Deep navy morocco leather, gilt-tooled with raised bands and a silver escutcheon monogram ("M.P.")
All gilt edges (AEG) with hidden fore-edge marbling - luxurious feature typically reserved for presentation or commission bindings
Blue moire silk with gilt dentelle borders endpapers, gilt stamped with dedication
Original matching presentation slipcase/box - rare to survive in this condition
Elaborate gitl title page and ornmanetla borders are engraved in the style of teh Second Empire to early Third Republic period, blending Gothic and Renaissance revival motifs
