Elegant silver-plated wine cooler or champagne bucket of flared tapering form with a rolled rim, cast lion's mask ring handles, and a decorative scrolling border around the foot. The restrained classical form is complemented by finely cast lion masks with movable ring pulls, making it suitable for both traditional and contemporary interiors.
The underside is stamped "Industria Argentina," indicating manufacture in Argentina, along with a worn maker's mark and production number 25. Argentine silverplate from the mid-20th century is well regarded for its substantial gauge and quality of manufacture, often drawing inspiration from English and French barware.
