Mini Trudeau Mirror Style Bronze Frame (With Birds in Corners)
Late 19th C French ormolu miniature photo or portrait frame
Circa 1880-1900, crafted in the Louis XVI Revival style popular in the Belle Epoque era
Gilt bronze (ormolu) cast and chased by hand
Ribbons and garlands draped across the crest
Pair of birds (lovebirds or doves) perches symmetrically on either side - a classic amour et fidelite (love and fidelity) motif
Laurel and floral sprays and a central cartouche with egg and dart molding along the border
Lower section features a garlanded urn and floral cluster - referencing 18th c salon ornamentation
Hinged brass tabls and copper hanging loop; greenish patina visible, consistent with age
