19th C Paris porcleain workshop known for producing Sevres-style pieces
Maison Paul Milet (MP); active in Sevres c 1870-1931
Founded by Optat Milet (1838-1911), a former decorator at the Sevres Manufactory, later joined by his son Paul Milet
This mini vase is circle 1895-1910; glazed faience/stoneware body in deep teal green glaze (one of Milet's siganture tones)
Finely cast gilt bronze in Louis XVI neoclassical style, with husk garlands and ribboned swags
Paul was among the most respected French ceramicist of his generation
Many of his pieces sold through luxury Parisian boutiques or mounted by Barbedienne and Picard to appeal to collectors of neoclassical revival objet d'art
