Asian Carved Wood Plant Stand with Pink Marble Inlay on Top c. 1890–1915.
Chinese hardwood pedestal stand, most likely late Qing dynasty to early Republic period (circa 1880–1920)
ppears to be hongmu or rosewood (a dense Chinese hardwood commonly used for stands).
Top: Round with inset marble (reddish veining typical of Chinese stands, often called "dream stone" for its cloudlike patterns).
Edge: Beaded border carved around the top.
Apron & Carving: Deeply carved with openwork floral and foliate motifs, and four stylized lion dog (foo dog) masks at the leg joints.
Legs: Curved cabriole-style legs ending in paw-like feet with foliate carving.
Underside: Traditional Chinese joinery, though I notice some reinforcement pieces added later (indicating past repairs).
